![]() as they were making the halo halo i made sure to say that it was with ube. i asked for 2 halo halo special with ice cream. ugh… but my sister asked me to grab some halo halo for her and the kids. Why did i even walk in here? this place is awful. There are far too many good places in that area where you can get better food and taho from. (If your reading this… say to yourself how is that possible?) So me and wife stupidly just took and wanted to make sure that all of you who read this… DO NOT GO THERE EVER!!! If Goldilocks is okay with this sub par «filipino» food then they deserve to go out of business and sell mamon strictly to costco to keep its name here in the US. When me and my wife tried to return it, the cashier girl said «its gonna come out of my pay check». The taho came out all syrup with little to no taho, not to mention when you microwave it, the water from the taho separates, so you can see the murky water underneath it with the syrup. Unfortunately we were given this cold taho that was microwaved for us and said by the cashier girl… this is how its done. My wife and I were looking to have taho in the Island pacific store, seeing that the other 2 restaurants were busy we thought we could be sneaky and get taho at the world renown «goldilocks». I am currently disappointed in how this restaurant is managed. This particular restaurant knows the name and is now synonymous to bad filipino food and worse service. The Goldilocks name in the USA has now come to a new low. This is the worst «filipino» restaurant around. If it was possible to give this place no stars… I would put it. I noticed, too, they have a lot of about to expire merchandise that are displayed right as you enter their store, (which is inside a big supermarket that I had a hard time finding til I called the store from my car) so you get attracted & buy them. And yeah, btw, their cooked dishes, looks old & oily! One of them was even selling me hopia that would expire in a couple of days! Do not ever patronize this place, they are taking advantage of the Filipinos who want a taste of Philippine food, they charge you a lot. You are not the only place that could make/cook Filipino food & pastries. 99, I can make my own pastillas de leche & come up with a hundred or more pieces. 99!!! WHAT THE HECK!!! What is it made of? Gold milk, gold sugar, cooked in a gold wok? With $ 12. Exactly what the other reviews have said - very expensive!!! Imagine this - a twelve-piece pastillas de leche is $ 12. The most thing that I can say about Goldilocks Union City is - overpriced merchandise!!! They think Filipinos are so longing for their products that their price is overrated. The food is good and i urge they change their service if nothing has changed since my experience. I really hope they didnt lie to me because they were too lazy to make it. This was in 2014 and after those five days i was convinced not to come here anymore for my favorite food. They explained how they cant cook it and how its not on the menu anymore. Unfortunately, ever since that order, ive came back to this one store in particular about 5 days in a row and each day they disappoint me by saying its not available. We ordered and within 15 minutes we got our food. The first time noticing it in Island Pacific with my gf, i immediately ordered Chicken Adobo so that my girlfriend could try what i got to experience. That specific Goldilocks i have always gone to has now turned into a desert café so this store on dyer seemed to be the perfect replacement. Goldilocks is the first place ive tried chicken adobo and from then on i fell in love with it. Savory Filipino dishes like Fresh Lumpia, Crispy Binagoongan, Adobo, Bistek Tagalog, Lechon, BBQ Skewers, and Palabok. It has been less than a year since i came by to order one of my favorite foods, chicken adobo. ![]() The bake shop serves goodies like Ensaymada, Mamon, Honeywheat Pandesal, Ube Loaf, Polvoron, Boat Tart, Hopia and many more!Ĭome in today and see what all the fuss is about!
